At the Bible Society, our vision is to see “God’s Word Life for All.” We envision a South Pacific where every individual, regardless of culture, language, or background, has access to the life-giving message of the Bible. We believe that the Word of God has the power to transform lives, heal brokenness, and bring hope to all people.

Mission

Making God’s Word to be easily understood, available, so that our people can engage with it in all situations (Translation/ Publishing/ Distribution & Engage). The mission of the Bible Society of the South Pacific is to make God’s Word easily understood, available, accessible, and credible to all people in all situations across the South Pacific.

The Bible Society in the South Pacific is a Christian organization dedicated to making the Bible accessible, understood, and valued throughout the region. Their work encompasses a wide range of initiatives aimed at promoting biblical literacy, encouraging engagement with Scripture, and facilitating the distribution of Bible resources to individuals and communities.

1. Translation and Publishing: One of the primary focuses of the Bible Society in the South Pacific is translating the Bible into local languages spoken across the region. They work with linguists, scholars, and local communities to ensure that the Bible is available in languages that people can understand and relate to. Additionally, they undertake the publishing and distribution of these translated Bibles, making them accessible to diverse populations.

2. Scripture Engagement: The Bible Society seeks to foster a culture of Scripture engagement by encouraging individuals and communities to read, study, and apply the teachings of the Bible in their daily lives. They organize workshops, seminars, and training programs that equip people with tools for understanding and interpreting Scripture, promoting a deeper understanding of the Bible’s relevance and significance.

3. Youth and Children’s Ministry: Recognizing the importance of engaging young people with the Bible, the Bible Society in the South Pacific focuses on youth and children’s ministry. They develop age-appropriate resources, including children’s Bibles, storybooks, and educational materials that present biblical narratives in an engaging and understandable manner. Through partnerships with schools, churches, and youth organizations, they promote the integration of the Bible into the lives of young individuals.

4. Advocacy and Partnerships: The Bible Society collaborates with churches, ministries, and other organizations to advocate for the importance of the Bible and its teachings in society. They work towards promoting religious freedom, ethical values, and the positive impact of biblical values on individuals and communities. By fostering partnerships, they aim to amplify their reach and impact in delivering God’s Word to those who need it.

5. Humanitarian and Social Initiatives: In addition to their core mission of Bible translation and distribution, the Bible Society in the South Pacific engages in various humanitarian and social initiatives. These include supporting disaster relief efforts, providing Bible resources to prisoners and hospitals, and addressing social issues through the lens of biblical principles.
