VANUATU MANAGER
The Bible Society of the South Pacific is a Christian organization involved in communicating the Word of God in the South Pacific. We are looking for an individual with a commitment to share God’s Word to be based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The primary objective of this role is to create alliances and work in collaboration with churches and translation agencies in Vanuatu to provide God’s Word in every Indigenous language in Vanuatu, in a format people can engage with by 2033.
The Manager will demonstrate the personal qualities to be able to work in an organization with a strong Christian and multicultural ethos and will uphold the values of the organization. Experience in the Pacific context will be an advantage.
Knowledge And Experience
- At least 3 years of managerial-related experience, working with charity alliances and/or networks preferably in the Pacific region; the role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Experience in team leadership and cross-cultural communication will be key to success.
- This role is focused on mission-oriented activities and initiatives: and requires a wholehearted commitment to disseminating the Christian faith, particularly through Bible translation and collaborations with churches and translation agencies. It is well-suited for individuals who possess a strong passion for faith-based initiatives, especially within the multicultural and diverse context of Vanuatu.
Essential Skills
- Communication, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to successfully work within a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) with strong writing ability at a project donor reporting level.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, inclusive, and equitable environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and representational skills with experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of different individuals and organizations.
- Demonstrates effective teamwork skills in organizing and managing Board Meetings with the Vanuatu Mission Branch Board. Exhibits leadership capabilities in overseeing a team of translation coordinators and administrative personnel.
- Possesses the ability to establish sustainability for the Mission Branch through networking and fundraising activities.
