Bible Month is an important annual campaign by the Bible Society of the South Pacific—a month-long celebration of God’s Word, focused on addressing relevant social issues through Scripture.
Each year, a devotional guide is prepared to highlight a specific issue. This year, the focus is on substance abuse, with the theme: “Substance Use and the Word of God.”
The devotional is available for free download in three languages: English, iTaukei, and Bislama.
While the campaign runs throughout the month, churches are encouraged to choose any week between 29th June and 27th July to observe Bible Week. You can use the devotional in:

Witness March & Opening Service – Bible Month 2025
29 June 2025
Bible Month 2025 began with a powerful show of unity and faith as nearly 200 people from various churches across Suva took part in a Witness March from the Suva Flea Market to Centenary Church on Stewart Street.
The Opening Service featured a stirring message from Rev. Dr. Semisi Turagavou, President of the Methodist Church in Fiji, who challenged all in attendance to view the world through the lens of God’s Word.
The event was a beautiful time of fellowship with churches from the Fiji Council of Churches, Pentecostal fellowships, and other Christian communities. We were also honoured by the presence of members of the Fiji Mission Board, who joined in the celebration of Scripture and the start of Bible Month.
Pictures can be found here.

Schools are also encouraged to take part by organizing creative activities such as:
Bible character parades
Oratory and Bible quiz competitions
Bible-themed bulletin boards and artwork displays

This year, Bible Month is celebrated in Fiji, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu, with the official launch on 29th June.
Our teams will be actively engaging with local communities to provide:
-
Sunday School teacher training
-
Family Bible training
-
Healing groups using “Healing the Wounds of Trauma – How the Church Can Help?” by the Trauma Healing Institute
Through these efforts, we aim to equip and empower churches and families to address real-life challenges with the hope and healing found in God’s Word.
